Please help up get through this upcoming Winter!

This years summer’s extreme dryness has left hay and straw in short supply. As well as less grazing available, the prices of hay and straw have soared, while availability and quality have fallen. As winter approaches, we urgently need help to keep our residents fed and comfortable.

Hay and Straw Fundraiser

From the end of October until April 2026, our grazing resident cows, sheep and goats come indoors. This means they’ll rely entirely on hay instead of grass until spring. At the same time, we’ll need extra straw to keep everyone’s bedding warm and cosy through the cold nights. Especially all of the pigs!

To get through these months, we need to raise an additional £11,900. Our supplier can deliver 200 bales of hay every two weeks, but until the new cow barn is finished, we don’t have the space to stockpile and store any more to prepare. We need to make sure we have enough funds to continue to pay for the deliveries.

Every bale really does make a difference.

YOUR DONATIONS

Your donation can cover the cost of a bale – and if you can make it monthly, you’ll help guarantee we can see the winter through.

Prices have increased since last winter and we really are in need of your donations to help us cover the costs.

Donate the cost of a bale of hay or straw or set up a monthly donation to help us plan ahead - Thank you!
