Vet visit for Mo🐮

Poor Mo has been through a lot lately! She developed a painful hoof infection, so we had the vet out to drain it while she was sedated to give her some relief.

Large animals like cows require a lot of work and special equipment to keep everyone safe, meaning we can’t just lift her hoof like we would with some of our other residents! So sedation was the best option for her comfort and care.

Afterward, our professional hoof trimmer gave her a much needed trim and checkup. He found that the skin between her digits had grown unusually, which led to dirt getting trapped underneath and the subsequent infection. To help her heal, she had a block put on one digit to relieve pressure from the swollen side, plus a fresh bandage.

With antibiotics, pain relief, a lot of rest in her own room, after only a few weeks Mo is already feeling so much better! We’re keeping a close eye on her, and her hoof trimmer will be back soon to check on her progress.

Send Mo some well wishes. Any donations towards her vet bills would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽❤🐮
