We’re delighted to introduce Jess and Lucy, two beautiful four‑year‑old sisters who have recently joined the sanctuary. They come from a loving home, but after their carers sadly lost their land, they needed somewhere safe to go. It’s clear from the moment you meet them that they’ve grown up surrounded by kindness, and we’re honoured to give them a permanent home.
Jess and Lucy have now finished their quarantine period and are settling wonderfully into sanctuary life. They’ve had a lot of change recently, so we’ve given them plenty of time to adjust, explore, and get comfortable in their new surroundings. They’ve been busy investigating the courtyard and the field, enjoying big sniffs, rooting up the grass, and discovering all the seasonal treats our volunteers bring: windfall apples, pumpkins, marrows and more.
They’re such lovely girls, each with a very distinct personality. Jess is incredibly talkative and loves chatting to volunteers while she leans in for fuss. She’s expressive, funny, and very clear about her boundaries. Lucy is much more relaxed, often the last one out of bed in the morning, but she enjoys a peaceful stroll all the way to the bottom of the field once she’s up. Watching their personalities unfold has been a joy for everyone here.
Jess and Lucy have now begun their introductions with Daisy and Nigel, our little pigs group. These meetings have been slow, gentle and carefully managed, and we’re hopeful that all four will become the best of friends as they continue to get to know each other.
We’re so happy to have Jess and Lucy with us, and we’re excited to watch them settle fully into their new life.
Donations help us take in animals like Jess and Lucy and provide lifelong care, food, bedding, preventative treatment and veterinary support. Thank you for helping us give them the safe, loving home they deserve.
