Big news - Surge Sanctuary is now a Charity!

Surge Sanctuary is now officially registered as a UK charity! 💚🐑🎉

Our manager/founder/all-round everything Abi has wanted this for a long time and worked so hard for it. We can’t believe it’s finally happened! We made a cake to celebrate the occasion.

This is such a big step forward for our animal sanctuary. Over the last four years, we’ve rescued, cared for and rehomed hundreds of animals who have needed us. We couldn’t have done this without the support of our followers and donators.

We reached out to you at the end of last year letting you know we were in a tough spot financially and you all showed your support and helped us through - which was just amazing. Becoming a registered charity is a step further to securing long-term financial stability, which will mean we can commit to helping even more animals.

We’re now officially registered for Gift Aid, which means if you’re a UK taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25% on top of your donation from HMRC, at no extra cost to you. This extra money means your charity donations will go even further in providing food, shelter and veterinary care to our residents. As a registered charity, we’re also now eligible to apply for certain grants, and our supporters can fundraise directly for the sanctuary, so please do start thinking of creative ways you can help!
